If your child is new to the band, here are a few helpful hints to make this season successful:
Arrive at least 15 minutes before 6:00 pm so that your child can set up their
instrument and be ready to begin at 6:00 pm
Have plenty of water
Wear closed to shoes
Wear appropriate clothing for weather and rehearsal
If your child is a returning member, the above hints are helpful for them as well.
If your child is going to miss band practice for ANY reason, Mr. Armstrong needs to know 2 weeks in advance. Please read the handbook and return the paper in the back with the expected dates of absence. If your child is sick, please email Mr. Armstrong as soon as you know that your child will not be attending practice.
DID YOU KNOW:
Deptford High School "Fight Song" was borrowed from
San Jose State University?
It is said that the Head of the DTHS Guidance Department in 1959, Mr. Roy Wager suggested that our mascot be the Spartans. Mr. Wager also suggested that the fight song be "The Spartan Fight Song" from his alma mater San Jose State University.
Here is a clip of San Jose State's Fight Song
